Implementing a progressive discipline process requires far more detail than most employers and HR professionals think. Throughout the process, there are very specific points and terms that need to be appropriately documented, conversations that must take place and the content of said conversations must address specific detail. What is most frustrating for employers is that you will never know what you did wrong or didn’t do until you have run through the process and tried to terminate the employee based on the merit of your progressive discipline system.
